JAKARTA. PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya Tbk (CNMA), a managing company of Cinema XXI network, had established 10 new theatres until September 30, 2023.

With these 10 new theatres, Cinema XXI now has 45 additional screens. New theatres then contributed to the company’s revenue growth, which was recorded at IDR 3.8 trillion from January to September (9M) of 2023.

The revenue of CNMA grew 15.5% year-on-year (yoy). With this revenue on hand, the company managed to score net profit of IDR 420 billion.

Hans Gunadi, President Director of Cinema XXI, mentioned that most of the revenue came from theatre ticket sales, covering 60% of total revenue. Then foods and beverages sales brought in another 35.7%, advertisement 1.7%, and digital platform 2.1%.

“Theatre ticket sales that dominated the revenue were supported by the rise of the number of audiences, increasing 15.9% yoy from 51 million viewers in 9M of 2022 to 59.1 million viewers in 9M 2023,” Gunadi mentioned in the official statement.

Meanwhile, the number of viewers of Cinema XXI in the third quarter (Q3) of 2023 was recorded at 22.3 million. It is higher than the number of viewers recorded at 20.8 million in Q3 2022. The increase resulted in Gross Box Office (GBO) of IDR 2.5 trillion at the end of September 2023. (KR/ZH)
