JAKARTA - PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) scored net profit of IDR 25.69 trillion in the third quarter (Q3) of 2023, increasing 10% year-on-year (yoy) from IDR 23.33 trillion. The surge resulted from increases in all five main business segments, save for Agribusiness and Heavy Equipment for Mining, Construction, and Energy.

Djony Bunarto Tjondro, President Director of Astra International, mentioned that the company’s improvement indicates post-pandemic recovery. “Amidst global uncertainty, the company managed to survive and record satisfactory performance until the end of this year,” he said in the press release quoted Wednesday (1/11).

The revenue of ASII was recorded at IDR 240.9 trillion, growing 9% yoy from IDR 221.35 trillion. The main contributors were heavy equipment for mining, construction, and energy of IDR 9.43 trillion, followed by automotive of IDR 9.16 trillion, financial services of IDR 5.85 trillion, infrastructure and logistics of IDR 766 billion, agribusiness of IDR 638 billion, property of IDR 114 billion, and information technology of IDR 96 billion.

In for comparison, in Q3 2022, heavy equipment for mining, construction, and energy generated IDR 9.53 trillion, followed by automotive of IDR 6.79 trillion, financial services of IDR 4.41 trillion, agribusiness of IDR 969 billion, infrastructure and logistics of IDR 386 billion, property of IDR 109 billion, and information technology of IDR 49 billion.

For the record, in Q3 2023, automotive segment reported sales of 421,000 units of cars, 2% higher from the same period in 2022. Meanwhile, motorcycles sales reached 3.7 million units, growing 39% yoy from the same period last year. (LK/ZH)
