JAKARTA - PT BISI International Tbk (BISI) joins hands with Chia Tai Co Ltd (CT) to grow F1 hybrid seeds for sweet corns, tomatoes, melons, and cucumbers. BISI and CT are known to be affiliated.

Agus Saputra Wijaya, President Director of BISI, said that the signing of the cooperation agreement of CT took place yesterday (30/10). “The company and CT will share resources in research, not only in germplasm procurement,” he said in information disclosure quoted Wednesday (1/11).

Through this collaboration, the company will gain extra recurring income from the sales of F1 hybrid seeds.

In Q3 2023, its revenue reached IDR 1.46 trillion, most of which were contributed from seeds’ sales of IDR 801.03 billion, followed by pesticide and fertiliser sales of IDR 645.89 billion, and other of IDR 13.91 billion.

In the seed sales segment, corn seeds generated IDR 592.17 billion of sales, followed by vegetables and fruit seeds of IDR 202.49 billion, as well as rice seeds of IDR 6.36 billion. The profit was seen declining to IDR 253.89 billion from IDR 340.88 billion recorded in Q3 2022. (LK/ZH)
