NUSA DUA - Tempo and IDNFinancials crowned Dato' Low Tuck Kwong, CEO of PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN) as the Best CEO in Coal Mining and Resources last Friday (1/12) at TOP CEO Awards 2023 held at Sofitel Nusa Dua, Bali.

Amidst the pandemic crisis, BYAN managed to show impressive financial and operational performance, scoring over 64% annual growth in revenue at the end of 2022. As a result, BYAN's profit was nearly doubled, reaching USD 2.3 billion by December 2022.

With his business acumen, the coal king, Dato’ Low Tuck Kwong, bought his first mine in 1997 and officially established Bayan Resources in 2004. Since then, he has led Bayan into one of the biggest coal mining companies in Indonesia.

It is worth mentioning that this TOP CEO Awards 2023 is the second collaboration initiated by Tempo and IDNFinancials, following the first launch of Indeks52 last June. This award features 43 best CEOs of listed companies in their respective categories, including banks, construction materials, as well as mining. (ZH)
