JAKARTA - Djony Bunarto Tjondro, CEO of PT Astra International Tbk (ASII), has seized the Best CEO in Diversified Conglomeration award given by Tempo-IDNFinancials.

The award is also given to 42 other CEOs of publicly listed companies during TOP CEO Awards Indonesia 2023 initiated by Tempo-IDNFinancials at Sofitel Hotel, Nusa Dua, Bali, last Friday (1/12). This award is given to several individuals that are deemed successful in driving company’s growth and contribution to environment through Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) programmes.

According to IDNFinancials data, ASII has shown solid performance for the past 5 years, as indicated through its net profit that has consistently increased in double digit, particularly in 2021 (24.94%) and 2022 (43.32%), despite slight slippage in 2019 and 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic. The net profit growth in 2021 and 2022 even surpassed the numbers seen prior to COVID-19.

ASII’s profitability within the past 5 years are supported with its ever-increasing revenue, consistently increasing in double digit. In 2021, the company’s revenue soared 33.38%, while in 2022, it continued to rise 29.08% higher.

Based on IDNFinancials data, ASII’s stock price in today’s session was corrected 25 points, or 0.45% lower, to IDR 5,725 per share until 10.20 WIB. Since the initial listing on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2005, ASII’s price has shifted 4,750 points higher, or recorded 487.18% increase. Furthermore, its market capitalisation arrived at the top in the industry sector, booking IDR 231.77 trillion of value.

For the record, several CEOs of subsidiaries of ASII also managed to bring home TOP CEO Awards 2023 from Tempo-IDNFinancials. Some of them include Franciscus Xaverius Laksana, CEO of PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR); Hamdhani Dzulkarnaen Salim, CEO of PT Astra Otoparts Tbk (AUTO), and Santosa, CEO of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (AALI).
