Anthony Salim earns Best CEO In Processed Foods
JAKARTA. Anthony Salim, CEO of PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (INDF) won the award as The Best CEO In Processed Foods from Tempo.co and IDNFinancials.com. The TOP CEO awarding took place at the Sofitel Hotel, Nusa Dua Resort, Bali last weekend.
Anthony received an award for bringing PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (INDF) to become an Indonesian company that has a competitive advantage in the food sector. Starting from an instant noodle production company, PT Indofood evolved into a total food solution company.
The production integration carried out by Indofood makes it difficult for the company to be matched by competitors in the processed food industry. Product integration starts from upstream (agribusiness) to downstream (distribution system), so that INDF becomes a market leader with brands that have been known to the public for many years.
In carrying out its operational activities, Indofood benefits from economies of scale and the resilience of its business model which consists of four complementary Strategic Business Groups (Groups), namely: Branded Consumer Products (CBP), Bogasari, Agribusiness and Distribution.
INDF's competitive advantages have made the company continue to grow. Just look at INDF's success in posting revenue of IDR 76.59 trillion in 2019 and a net profit of IDR 4.9 trillion. During the pandemic, the company actually succeeded in increasing revenue to IDR 81.73 trillion and net profit IDR 6.46 trillion in 2020. Revenue continues to increase in 2021 to IDR 99.35 trillion and net profit IDR 7.64 trillion. The company continues to record its latest revenue record in 2022 and reached IDR 100 trillion, namely IDR 110.83 trillion and a net profit of IDR 6.36 trillion. The net profit decreased slightly driven by an increase in COGS (Cost of Good sales). In the third quarter of 2023, revenue reached IDR 83.89 trillion and net profit IDR 7.08 trillion.
Apart from that, this award was achieved because Indofood's commitment to protecting the environment is reflected in its Environmental Policy. Indofood's commitment to sustainability is to strive to achieve sustainable growth through innovation and superior management. So that Indofood consistently integrates the triple bottom line which includes social, environmental and economic aspects into strategy and business decision making.
Competitive excellence, financial performance and the concept of implementing sustainability, made Anthony Salim win this prestigious award for his achievements and success in leading the company in the financial aspect and impact on the environment (social impact).
This appreciation is given through a number of stages of data collection and research, including financial and company sustainability reports, as well as face-to-face or virtual interviews with CEOs.
The awarding night was also filled with a talk show with the theme: Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045, and presenting as speakers 4 CEOs from large and well-known companies, namely President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk Irfan Setiaputra; President Director of PT Industri Jamu dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk David Hidayat; President Director of PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk Christian Kartawijaya and President Director of PT Aneka Tambang Tbk Nicolas D Kanter.
