JAKARTA - Tempo-IDNFinancials named Hamdhani Dzulkarnaen Salim as The Best CEO in Automotive Parts and Equipment at the 2023 TOP CEO at Sofitel Nusa Dua Beach Resort, Bali, last weekend (1/12). This appreciation was given to the president director of PT Astra Otoparts Tbk (AUTO) for his performance growth, market expansion and implementation of Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2022, the issuer led by Hamdhani posted revenue of IDR 18.57 trillion, up from IDR 15.15 trillion in 2021. Profit for the year was recorded at IDR 1.47 trillion, an increase of more than two-fold from IDR 634.93 billion. The issuer's achievements in the last two years have increased significantly considering that in 2020, at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, its revenue was recorded at IDR 11.86 trillion and it posted a loss of IDR 37.86 billion.

According to him, AUTO was able to get through the pandemic crisis thanks to its ability to mitigate potential risks in the global situation. "We have various strategies which are always prepared beforehand to face conditions which we predict are very likely to occur. We are a domestic and international automotive component player so we have a number of strategies which can mitigate risks that might arise," said Salim during the interview with IDNFinancials in the TOP CEO assessment process in Jakarta.

The TOP CEO 2023 appreciation crowned 43 best CEOs from various industrial sectors, including banking, agriculture, coal, nickel, building raw materials, processed food and herbal health products. Wanny Wijaya, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) AUTO represented Hamdhani Dzulkarnaen Salim during the event. (LK/LM)
