JAKARTA – CEO of PT Ultrajaya Milk Industry & Trading Company Tbk (ULTJ), Sabana Prawirawidjaja, is granted an award as the Best CEO in Dairy Products by Tempo.co and IDNFinancials last Friday (1/12) at Sofitel Nusa Dua Beach Resort, Bali.

Prawirawidjaja is the first generation of the dairy product manufacturer and has been managing Ultrajaya for over 50 years. His journey and experience have brought Ultrajaya as the biggest and renowned dairy product manufacturer in Indonesia.

Applying philosophy as simple as moving towards positive changes, Prawirawidjaja is committed to meet the demands of Indonesian consumers for quality dairy products from a solid brand. With a high level of product quality, Prawirawidjaja is the man behind Ultrjaya’s success, ensuring to only make use of finest raw materials with production technology that generates superior and safe products. He also establishes warehousing facilities that could maintain product quality, while selecting prominent talents to manage the entire supply chain and implementing quality guarantee procedure that applies to all production aspects.

In order to ensure his products could be enjoyed by many across Indonesia, Ultrajaya distributes its products directly to modern and traditional retail, as well as wholesale trader. For distribution in Java, he establishes PT Nikos Distribution Indonesia (NDI) with 70% ownership. Then, for distribution outside Java, Prawirawidjaja manages at least 50 distributors across Indonesia.

Under Prawirawidjaja’s comman, Ultrajaya continues to grow year to year. In 2019, ULTJ generated revenue of IDR 6.2 trillion, before slightly slipped to IDR 5.97 trillion in 2020 due to the pandemic. However, it managed to rise again to IDR 6.6 trillion in 2021, reaching IDR 7.66 trillion in 2022. In Q3 2023, ULTJ’s revenue was already at IDR 6.12 trillion, growing yearly from IDR5.68 trillion seen in the same period in 2022.

In terms of net profit, Ultrajaya booked consistent growth. In 2019, net profit was at IDR 1.03 trillion, then went stable at IDR 1.10 trillion in 2020, before going up to IDR 1.27 trillion in 2021 and back down to IDR 960.79 billion in 2022. In Q3 2023, however, the net profit had reached IDR 929 billion, much higher than IDR 834.09 billion seen in Q3 2022.
