Foreign investors buy 4 billion of Gojek Tokopedia's (GOTO) shares; the net foreign volume is 1.22 billion
JAKARTA - The digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk's (GOTO) shares were bought up by foreign investors in as many as 4,07 billion shares on Friday, December 1, with a net volume of 1.33 billion shares. This number had a substantial impact on total foreign purchasing volume, which was 5.79 billion shares. Foreign selling volume itself was 4.56 billion shares, resulting in a net foreign volume of 1.22 billion shares in the green.
In addition to GOTO, 79.63 million shares of the automotive business PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) were purchased, for a net volume of 51.48 million shares. Foreign investors then bought 70.03 million shares of PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN) in the telecommunications sector, with a net volume of 35.22 million shares. Around 43.94 million shares of the mineral mining company PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) were also purchased, which recorded a net volume of 26.82 million shares. The most recent share acquisition was for the state-owned telecoms company PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) for 65.36 million shares, with a net volume of 21.95 million shares.
PT Metro Healthcare Indonesia Tbk (CARE) in the health services sector led the top-selling list with 78.41 million shares sold and a net volume of -70.92 million shares. Shares of the property company PT Surya Permata Andalan Tbk (NATO) were also sold for roughly 56.27 million shares, with a net volume of -53.69 million shares. 178.68 million shares of PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) were sold in the copper and gold mining sector, for a net volume of -45.33 million shares. Around 134.63 million shares of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) in the coal mining industry were then sold with a net volume of -40.20 million shares. Finally, foreign investors sold 34.74 million shares of telecommunications infrastructure company PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk (MTEL) and generated a net volume of -21.79 million shares. (KD)
