JAKARTA – Market capitalisation (market cap) of all issuers in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in December 2023 was recorded at IDR 11.67 quadrillion, shifting 22.97% from December 2022 worth IDR 9.49 quadrillion.

According to the data compiled by IDNFinancials today (9/1), 50 companies controlled 75.46% of total market cap, amounting to IDR 8.80 quadrillion, as of December 2023. For comparison, in December 2022, 50 top issuers scored market cap of IDR 6.79 quadrillion or 71.51% of total market cap.

Three companies sitting at the top of market capitalisation rank include PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), which remains uncontested at the top with market cap of IDR 1.14 quadrillion. In December 2022, this bank recorded market cap of IDR 1.04 quadrillion.

The new kid on the block, PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) surged to the second spot, sporting market cap of IDR 1 quadrillion, leaving behind its own parent company, PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT), at the 13th place with market cap of IDR 124.68 trillion.

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) is forced to step down to the third place, scoring market cap of IDR 858.99 trillion, from the initial runner-up place with market cap of IDR 741.21 trillion.

PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN) also dropped to the fourth place with market cap of IDR 663.33 trillion from the initial third place with IDR 700 trillion worth of market cap.

Lastly, PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) slipped far to the 12th place of Top 50 Market Capitalisation with BREN’s debut. Its market cap only reached IDR 134.66 trillion in December 2023, declining from IDR 179.30 trillion seen in December 2022. (LK/ZH)
