JAKARTA. PT Bank Mayapada Internasional Tbk (MAYA) seeks fresh funds of IDR 4 trillion through the capital increase with preemptive rights, also known as rights issue.

This corporate action has been granted approval from the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) held last October. For this rights issue, the company will issue 26.74 billion new shares. 

The number of shares issued by MAYA is equal to 69.33% of total issued and paid-up capital. Each share has a face value of IDR 100 and will be offered for IDR 150 each. 

For every 100 old shares, the holder will gain 266 preemptive rights, each of which grants the right to acquire 1 new share of the company.

Dato’ Sri Tahir, as the controlling shareholder of MAYA, will exercise his full portion of rights. Tahir has also been reported investing extra capital of IDR 752.13 billion. Furthermore, Jonathan Tahir will also exercise his full portion of right, placing IDR 165.97 billion of capital. 

Other shareholders, namely PT Mayapada Karunia, PT Mayapada Kasih, and PT Gatsu Griya Megatama, will also exercise their full portions of rights. These three companies, along with Dato’ Sri Tahir and Jonathan Tahir, are listed as standby buyers of this rights issue. 

The rights issue will take place until January 19, 2024. (KR/ZH)
