An increase in foreign purchases brings net foreign volume back to the green zone
JAKARTA - Foreign buying volume increased to 2.25 billion shares on Thursday, January 11, which brought back the net foreign to the green zone at 238.97 million shares. Meanwhile, the total foreign sales volume was 2.01 billion shares. PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) shares ranked first on the top purchase list, with foreign investors purchasing 662.31 million shares for a net volume of 150.74 million shares.
Aside from that, 123.55 million shares of PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL), which engages in the domestic and international shipping sectors, were bought for a net volume of 119.95 million shares. Shares of the state-owned banking institution PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) were also purchased for 99.35 million shares, for a net volume of 52.06 million shares. Foreign investors then purchased 46.36 million shares of e-commerce company PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) for a net volume of 23.62 million shares, followed by the purchase of 30.50 million shares of PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (MEDC) in the oil and gas exploration and production sector, with 22,52 million of net volume.
Meanwhile, the top-sell list started with the sale of 243.97 million shares of coal mining company PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), for a net volume of -149.09 million shares. Shares of PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk (HUMI), which operates in the marine and maritime services industry, were then sold for about 39.63 million shares, with a net volume of -34.92 million. In the timbre and plantation industry sector, 22.59 million shares of PT Dharma Satya Nusantara Tbk (DSNG) were sold. Insignificant foreign buys of DSNG resulted in a net volume of -22.29 million shares. Lastly, foreign investors sold 20.98 million shares of pharmaceutical business PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF) and 42.37 million shares of petrochemical and energy company PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) for net volumes of around -16 million shares each.
