JAKARTA - Share sales made by foreign investors on Wednesday, January 17, were significantly higher compared to previous days, namely 3.62 billion shares. Meanwhile, foreign buying activity was just 2.13 billion shares, resulting in an instant drop of net foreign to -1.49 billion shares. The largest contributor to the high foreign sales volume was the sale of 1.55 billion shares of the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), with a net volume of -936.67 million shares.

Moreover, PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF) shares in the pharmaceutical business were also sold at 110.35 million shares, with a net volume of -100.24 million. Foreign investors then sold around 87.17 million shares of PT Astra International Tbk (ASII), an automotive, financial services, heavy equipment, mining & energy, agriculture, information technology, infrastructure, and logistics company, for a net volume of -68.01 million. In the mineral mining industry, PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk shares were sold for 75.98 million shares, with a net volume of -57.23 million. The shares of PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT), a petrochemical and energy firm, were the last to be sold, with around 70.21 million shares sold and a net volume of -49.05 million shares.

Shares of local and foreign shipping company PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL) then occupied the first position on the top buy list after 95.61 million shares were purchased by foreign investors resulting in a net volume of 83.85 million shares. Furthermore, 36.62 million shares of the retail company PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPI) were purchased for a net volume of 27.64 million shares. The purchase of shares in two different issuers resulted in a net volume of 20 million shares each: 25.28 million shares of PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA) in the general mining contractor services sector and 92.04 million shares of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) in the banking sector. The share purchase list was then completed with 31.04 million shares of PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA) in the renewable energy sector for a net volume of 17.11 million shares. (KD)
