JAKARTA - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) booked nickel ore sales volume of 11.71 million wet metric ton (wmt) in 2023, shifting 67% from the same period in 2022 of 7.01 million wmt. The increased sales volume throughout 2023 was driven by last quarter's sales volume growth. 

In the press release quoted Wednesday (31/1), Corporate Secretary of ANTM, confirmed that the nickel ore sales in Q4 2023 alone climbed 2% higher to 2.30 million wmt from 2.25 million wmt seen in Q4 2022.

The surge in sales was supported by nickel ore production growth by 56% year-on-year (yoy) to 13.45 million wmt from 8.62 million wmt recorded in the same period in 2022. Meanwhile, the production in Q4 2023 alone reached 2.77 million wmt, 15% higher than 2.41 million wmt. 

Nickel exploration throughout 2023 was carried out in North Konawe and Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi, and Tanjung Buli North Maluku. In North Konawe, ANTM has conducted several activities, including geological mapping, core sampling, core logging, grid measurement and remeasurement, as well as yardstick installation and single tube drilling.
