Joining INA, Thomas Oentoro resigns from Garuda
JAKARTA - Thomas Oentoro resigned as Independent Commissioner of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) effective Thursday (15/2). At the state-owned company, Oentoro has not even served a year since his appointment at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) on May 30, 2023.
In an information disclosure quoted on Tuesday (13/2), Irfan Setiaputra, President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) said that he would hold a General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) to decide on the resignation application received by the company yesterday (11/2). "The company will take a number of necessary steps in relation to the resignation letter submitted by Thomas Oentoro," he said.
Thomas Oentoro's resignation is related to his appointment as a member of the Board of Directors of the Indonesian Investment Authority starting this week (15/2).
For the record, Thomas Oentoro has been listed as Vice President of Mezanine Capital Unit OCBC since 2015, Managing Director of KV Asia Capital since 2011-2015, Senior Investment Officer International Finance Corporation 2004-2011, and Vice President Senior Banker, Citigroup Indonesia 1995-2004.
INA is a sovereign wealth fund established by the government in February 2021. Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of Finance and Erick Thohir, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) each serve on the Supervisory Board representing the government in the institution. (LK/LM)
