Jokowi reshuffles cabinet again, installing 2 former armed forces
JAKARTA. President of Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), once again reshuffles its ministers by appointing 2 former personnels of Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) as Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal, and Security Affairs and Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning.
Former armed forces’ personnels in question, who will be inaugurated by Jokowi in Istana Negara today (21/2), are Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) and Hadi Tjahjanto. AHY will be appointed as the new Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, while Tjahjanto will be assigned the position of Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal, and Security Affairs.
According to IDNFinancials data, AHY signed up in an infantry task force in 2000. His military career lasts for 16 years with his last rank being Major. AHY then joined Demokrat Party, a political party that nominates Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as presidential candidate in 2004 General Election.
AHY is also listed under the National Campaign Team of Presidential Candidate Prabowo Subianto - Gibran Rakabuming Raka (Prabowo-Gibran) in the 2024 Election. AHY is the Vice Head of the campaign team.
Meanwhile, Hadi Tjahjanto kicked off his military career in 1986 with the last rank being Marshal of TNI. He has been taking position as Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning since mid-2022, replacing Sofyan Djalil. (KR/ZH)
