Up 28.5% yoy, CIMB Niaga scored IDR 6.55 trillion of profit in 2023
JAKARTA. PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk (BNGA), the private bank with the third highest market capitalisation in Indonesia, booked net profit of IDR 6.55 trillion in 2023, increasing 28.5% year-on-year (yoy).
Lani Darmawan, President Director of CIMB Niaga, said that this achievement reflects the company’s consistency in maintaining resilience, agility, and its user-oriented approach. “In the future, we will continue to provide the best and relevant financial solution in order to respond to various and ever-evolving users’ needs,” she told IDNFinancials today (21/2).
Darmawan also said that BNGA’s profitability in 2023 was also supported by improvement of asset quality. It is indicated with quite significant decrease in gross non-performing loan (NPL) rate to 2% from the initial 2.8% in December 2022.
In addition, BNGA also reported third-party funds increase, reaching IDR 235.9 trillion in 2023, or growing 3.8% yoy. In the meantime, total disbursed credits in 2023 amounted to IDR 213.4 trillion, up 8.5% yoy.
This positive performance allowed BNGA’s capital structure and liquidity to remain solid throughout 2023. The capital adequacy ratio (CAR) and Loan-to-Deposit ratio (LDR) at the end of 2023 arrived at 24% and 89.3%.
From its sharia business line, sharia business unit managed by CIMB Niaga, CIMB Niaga Syariah, channelled financing of IDR 55.2 trillion. This number went up 17% yoy. Meanwhile, third-party funds recorded by CIMB Niaga Syariah were reported increasing 13.7% yoy to IDR 44.9 trillion in 2023. (KR/ZH)
