JAKARTA. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), one of the big four banks with market capitalisations of over IDR 100 trillion, reported the highest net profit among others in 2023.

According to IDNFinancials data, BBRI booked net profit of IDR 60.09 trillion in 2023. Meanwhile, other jumbo banks’ net profit, such as PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI), only reached IDR 55.06 trillion, while PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) booked IDR 48.63 trillion, and PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) scored IDR 20.9 trillion.

However, due to the difference in the number of outstanding shares, each jumbo bank reported varied earnings per share (EPS), as well.

Although generating the highest net profit, BBRI only manages to score EPS of IDR 398. BMRI has the highest EPS OF DR 589.93, while the lowest EPS belongs to BBCA at IDR 395.

In terms of assets, BBRI only reported total assets of IDR 1,965 trillion at the end of 2023. BMRI still hold the most extensive amount of assets, reaching IDR 2,174 trillion.

Since the beginning of this year until today’s (29/2) first trading session, BMRI was seen soaring the highest, scoring 39.60% or 2,000-points increase. Then, BBNI follows behind with stock price surge of 32.40% or 1,450 points, higher than BBRI of 31.36% or 1,480 points and BBCA of 15.12% or 1,300 points. (KR/ZH)
