JAKARTA – Shareholders of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) agreed upon cash dividend allocation for the fiscal year 2023 of IDR 10.45 trillion during the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) yesterday (4/3). The dividend for 2023 is 42.68% higher than the cash dividend allocated in 2022 of IDR 7.32 trillion or IDR 392.78 per share.

In the 2023 Financial Report quoted Tuesday (5/3), this issuer scored net profit of IDR 20.90 trillion, up 14.18% year-on-year (yoy) from IDR 18.31 trillion seen in 2022. This shift aligned with the revenue growth of 12.46% yoy to IDR 61.47 trillion from IDR 54.65 trillion in 2022. The net interest income reportedly slipped to IDR 41.27 trillion from IDR 41.32 trillion.

The dividend allocation for 2023 is equal to approximately 50% of its net profit, which is the highest ratio within the past 16 years since 2007. In 2022, BBNI only allocated 40% of its net profit of IDR 18.31 trillion.

Since 2008, BBNI has always budgeted cash dividend of approximately 10% to 40% of its net profit. In 2007, the dividend was recorded at IDR 449.05 billion or 50% of its net profit. In 2008, the total dividend shrank to IDR 122.24 billion, or only equal to 10% of net profit. (LK/ZH)
