Save for gold, Antam to aim commodity production increase in 2024
JAKARTA – PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), a mining company listed as member of MIND ID, reveals its commodity production and sales target in 2024. The main commodities that Antam handles include ferronickel, nickel ores, gold, and bauxite.
According to the press release today (5/3), Antam is setting a moderate target in ferronickel production of 5% year-on-year (yoy) and its sales of 12% yoy to 22,464 tons of nickel within ferronickel (TNi).
“[The production and sales target] considers the outlook of ferronickel product absorption in the global market, market conditions, as well as optimum utilisation rate and operational stability of Antam ferronickel plant in Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi,” Syarif Faisal Alkadrie, Corporate Secretary of ANTM, explained.
Meanwhile, for nickel ore, Antam is positive about increasing production by up to 53% yoy to 20.58 million wet metric ton (wmt), as well as boosting sales of 60% yoy to 18.75 million wmt.
The most extensive target is given by Antam in the production and sales of bauxite ores, which are set to 72% and 103% yoy to 3.47 million wmt and 3.05 million wmt. “Along with the bauxite ore export ban in 2023, the Company focuses on developing bauxite ore sales in the domestic market,” added Alkadrie.
Lastly, although Antam is targeting gold sales up by 43% yoy to 37,354 kg in 2024, gold production target is down to 958 kg. In 2023, Antam’s gold production (unaudited) was said to reach 1,208 kg.
