JAKARTA - On Thursday, March 14, foreign investors purchased 1.53 billion shares of PT Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) for a net volume of 710.79 million shares. This transaction managed to boost the volume of foreign purchases to 3.73 billion shares. With a foreign sales volume of only about 2.53 billion shares, net foreign volume managed to break into the green zone with 1.19 billion shares.

Furthermore, 86.02 million shares of the minimarket chain of PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (AMRT) were purchased, for a net volume of 72.10 million shares. Shares in two banking companies were also bought, which belong to PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI), totaling 141 million shares with a net volume of 62.11 million shares, and PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), totaling 100.23 million shares with a net volume of 53.06 million. In the real estate sector, PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk (SSIA) shares were bought for 84.65 million, with a net volume of 56.65 million shares.

Foreign investors, on the other hand, sold some of their holdings, starting with the sale of 36.14 million shares of electric vehicle battery producer PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk (MBMA), for a net volume of -33.32 million shares. In the banking sector, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) shares were sold for 168.71 million shares, with a net volume of -25.21 million shares, while PT Bank BTPN Syariah Tbk (BTPS) shares were sold for 30.97 million shares, with a net volume of -16.55 million shares. Shares of PT Surya Citra Media Tbk (SCMA), a television broadcasting firm, were also sold for 18.91 million shares, followed by 31.39 million shares of PT Sinergi Multi Lestarindo Tbk (SMLE), a basic chemicals company. These two transactions then resulted in a net volume of SCMA and SMLE of approximately -15 million shares each. (KD)
