JAKARTA - PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA), an e-commerce platform, lost IDR 1.36 trillion, despite posting a 22.66% increase in revenue throughout 2023. In 2022, the company made a profit of IDR 1.98 trillion, recovering from its performance in 2021, which suffered a loss of IDR 1.67 trillion.

In its 2023 financial report quoted on Monday (25/3), BUKA posted revenue of IDR 4.43 trillion, up from IDR 3.61 trillion in 2022. However, it posted an operating loss of IDR 2.12 trillion, compared to 2022 which posted an operating profit of IDR 1.75 trillion. This was due to an increase in cost of goods and investment losses that had not been realized in 2023.

In 2023, the issuer's two business pillars, namely, marketplace and online to offline, contributed an increase in revenue of IDR 2.23 trillion and IDR 2.18 trillion, respectively. Meanwhile, the procurement segment decreased to IDR 11.09 billion. In 2022, the marketplace segment posted revenues of IDR 1.51 trillion and online to offline IDR 1.96 trillion, while procurement contributed IDR 133.43 billion.

In 2021, the company posted revenue of IDR 1.86 trillion, operating loss of IDR 1.70 trillion, and net loss of IDR 1.67 trillion. (LK/LM)
