JAKARTA - Foreign purchases and sales of shares increased in volume on Tuesday, March 26, compared to the previous trading day. Foreign buy volume was around 3.44 billion shares, while foreign sell volume was 3.38 billion shares. The increased foreign buying volume resulted in a surplus in net foreign volume, although it was only around 58.99 million shares.

The foreign buy list commenced with the purchase of 221.59 million shares of PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN), a telecommunications company, for a net volume of 118.50 million shares. Apart from that, shares of the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) were acquired for up to 1.54 billion shares and sold for 1.48 billion shares, for a net volume of 56.90 million shares. The e-commerce company PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) was then purchased for 130.34 million shares, with a net volume of 45.57 million shares, followed by the purchase of 32.32 million shares of the consulting services company in the mining and energy sector, PT Sumber Energi Andalan Tbk (ITMA), with a net volume of 31.28 million. In the banking sector, 97.67 million shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) were purchased, for a net volume of 28.90 million shares.

On the other hand, foreign investors also sold some of their shares, starting with the sale of 238.21 million shares of telecoms operator PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM), for a net volume of -135.17 million shares. Shares of PT Puradelta Lestari Tbk (DMAS) in the property sector were then sold for 52.27 million shares, with a net volume of -37.18 million. Shares of two banks, PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) and PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), were also sold. Foreign investors sold 55.73 million BMRI shares for a net volume of -20.39 million shares and 52.43 million BBCA shares for a net amount of -19.80 million shares. The sale of shares in minerals and metals mining company PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) closed the net foreign list with 23.45 million shares sold and a net volume of -18.31 million shares. (KD)
