JAKARTA - PT Prodia Widyahusada Tbk (PRDA) has prepared moderate amount of capital expenditure (capex) in 2024, worth a maximum of IDR 250 billion. The board of directors said that most of the capex will be allocated to IT development and digital services.

“This year’s capex nearly matches last year’s, of IDR 245 [billion]. This year, we set it at the range between IDR 200 and IDR 250 billion,” said Liana Kuswandi, Director of Finance of Prodia, during the Public Expose of PRDA today (18/4).

“For the building, [we allocate] 30%, for IT 55%, purchase of other assets 15%, and outlet expansion, nearly no amount of capex [had been allocated],” added Kuswandi, clarifying the capex utilisation.

Since last year, coinciding with its 50th anniversary, PRDA has made no significant branch expansion, as its focus has been redirected to digital services.

Even with an offer for collaboration from a hospital to promote healthcare infrastructure in IKN, PRDA still hesitates.

“We actually have no definitive plan. However, there are a hospital asking us to be a part of their laboratory,” claimed Dewi Muliaty, President Director of Prodia.

As seen in 2023, PRDA did not open a single independent laboratory, but opened 20 points-of-care (POC) of Prodia instead.

“Usually, when we are about to set up a stand-alone, independent lab, we begin from POCs. We form relations first with doctors practicing in clinics. Once the market expands, we open a lab,” Muliaty said.

After allocating 60% of its 2023 net profit as cash dividend, Kuswandi also mentioned that some of those remaining 40% will be set aside for investment in its subsidiary, PT Prodia Digital Indonesia (PDI), which is engaged in the Prodia service digitalisation.

“The capital for the subsidiary is approximately IDR 1 trillion, whereas we only deposited 30%, IDR 299 billion. IDR 1 billion came from PT Prodia Utama,” said Kuswandi.

Prodia, through PDI, is known to have launched U by Prodia, an integrated application for laboratory and other healthcare services since February 2023.

“Until late last year, we recorded almost over 600 thousand downloaders of U by Prodia,” said Andri Hidayat, Director of Digital Transformation and IT of Prodia.

“This year, we plan to double it,” Hidayat continued. In other words, until the end of 2024, Prodia aims to record installment of U by Prodia to reach over 1.2 million. (ZH)
