JAKARTA – Market capitalisation of PT Barito Renewable Energy Tbk (BREN) has surpassed PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), arriving as the top market capitalisation in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) yesterday (29/4). Last Friday (26/4), BREN also replaced PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) from its runner-up position.

Based on IDX data today (30/4), BREN reported market cap of IDR 1.2 quadrillion at yesterday’s (29/4) closing bell. It was closed at IDR 9,025 per share, recording 17.97 million shares being traded within 8,783 transactions worth IDR 160.75 billion. Positive sentiment in the market then drove investors to purchase more, as foreign buy reached 12 million, higher than foreign sell of 8.62 million shares.

Within the past week, BREN’s price has continued to skyrocket, thus driving significant shift in market cap. At the end of March 2024, BREN’s market cap was still stuck at IDR 719.10 billion, third to BBCA’s IDR 1.22 quadrillion and BBRI’s IDR 907.76 billion.

Yesterday (29/4), BBCA’s market cap was recorded at IDR 1.19 quadrillion, while the closing price was seen at IDR 9,800 per share. The transaction volume reached 90.06 million shares, recorded within 18,083 transactions worth IDR 876.47 billion. However, BBCA remains as a favourite amongst foreign investors in the market, as foreign buy hit 77.44 million, surpassing foreign sell of 69.27 million shares. (LK/ZH)
