Foreigners acquired large number of Gojek Tokopedia shares; net foreign closed at 827 million shares
JAKARTA - On Tuesday, April 30, foreign investors purchased up to 1.56 billion shares of the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) for a net volume of 357.31 million shares. This share purchase transaction became one of the factors driving the increase in foreign purchase volume, which now stands at 4.66 billion shares. Meanwhile, foreign sales volume was in the range of 3.84 billion shares, with net foreign volume closing at 827.08 million shares.
Aside from GOTO, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) shares in the oil and gas distribution sector were purchased for 98.65 million shares, resulting in a net volume of 62.45 million shares. Then, 82.97 million shares of lifestyle retail company PT MAP Active Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPA) were purchased, for a net volume of 45.89 million shares. About 46.15 million shares of minimarket company PT Midi Utama Indonesia Tbk (MIDI) were also purchased with a net volume of 45.25 million shares, followed by the purchase of 57.78 million shares of energy resources infrastructure company PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) with a net volume of 44.69 million shares.
In contrast, foreign investors sold 265.11 million shares of coal mining company PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) for a net volume of -120.14 million. Moreover, shares of the e-commerce company PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) were also sold for around 263.32 million shares, and the net volume was -38.45 million shares. Apart from that, the sale of 64.43 million shares of PT Pakuwon Jati Tbk (PWON), a property company, resulted in a net volume of -28.51 million shares. The highest share sales were made to shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) in the banking sector, totaling 350.26 million shares with a net volume of -21.07 million shares. Finally, shares of the construction company PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) were sold for 20.26 million shares, for a net volume of -19.90 million. (KD)
