JAKARTA - On Friday, May 3, foreign investors purchased 2.87 billion shares of the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) for a net volume of 783.74 million shares. This deal raised foreign buying volume to 4.65 billion shares. Meanwhile, foreign sales volume was around 4.11 billion shares, resulting in a net foreign volume of 537.80 million shares in the surplus.

Aside from GOTO, 71.87 million shares of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS), an oil and gas distributor, were purchased, for a net volume of 61.01 million shares. Shares of the energy resources infrastructure company PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) were then purchased as many as 42.76 million shares, for a net volume of 32.43 million. Furthermore, 55.48 million shares of the telecommunications company PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN) were purchased for a net volume of 29.50 million shares, followed by 75.15 million shares of the banking company PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) for a net volume of 23.95 million.

Meanwhile, foreign investors sold shares in two banks, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) and PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI). BBRI shares were sold around 235.19 million, with a net volume of -119.95 million, while BMRI shares were sold for 211.04 million, with a net volume of -64.75 million. PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) shares in the telecommunications sector were sold for 85.98, with a net volume of -43.14 million shares. The two last sales transactions had a net volume of roughly -30 million shares, with foreign investors selling 35.37 million shares of the recreational park operator company PT Graha Andrasentra Propertindo Tbk (JGLE) and 110.90 million shares of the e-commerce company PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA).
