As foreign sell volume rises drastically, net foreign volume drops to -884 million shares
JAKARTA - Foreign investors' share-selling transactions on Monday, May 6, doubled from the previous day, bringing the total foreign sell volume to 8.16 billion shares. However, foreign buy volume was just 7.28 billion shares, resulting in a net foreign volume of -884.54 million shares. One of the factors contributing to the high foreign sales volume was the sale of 2.03 billion shares of the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), with a net volume of -311.25 million shares.
The next shares to be sold were those of the state-owned telecommunications business, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM), totaling 185.75 million shares with a net volume of -111.64 million. PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) shares in the e-commerce sector were also sold at 95.14 million shares, with a net volume of -74.93 million. The last two most-sold shares belonged to banking companies, in which foreign investors sold 151.59 million shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) with a net volume of -76.81 million shares and 138.86 million shares of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) with a net volume of -42.78 million shares.
On the contrary, some foreign investors increased their holdings, beginning with the purchase of 61.55 million shares of renewable energy business PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA), for a net volume of 57.36 million. Around 55.98 million shares of the energy resources infrastructure company PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) were also purchased, with a net volume of 49.02 million shares. The acquisition of 33.88 million shares of domestic and foreign shipping firm PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL) and 37.94 million shares of geothermal energy company PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO) resulted in a net volume of around 30 million pieces.
