JAKARTA - On Wednesday, May 8, foreign investors bought up to 3.84 billion shares. They did, however, sell their shareholdings, resulting in a foreign sell volume of 3.61 billion shares. These trades resulted in a net foreign volume surplus of 230.20 million shares. The most shares acquired belonged to the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), namely 1.50 billion shares, with a net volume of 541.04 million shares.

In addition, 213.90 million shares of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), a coal mining company, were purchased, with a net volume of 164.52 million shares. PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA) shares in the renewable energy sector were then purchased for 73.06 million, for a net volume of 69.34 million. Shares of domestic and foreign shipping services firm PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL) and leasing company PT BFI Finance Tbk (BFIN) were then sold for approximately 51 million shares each, with BULL's net volume at 47.58 million shares and BFIN's at 46.54 million.

Meanwhile, the sale of shares in two banking firms (PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) and PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA)) began the list of share sales. Foreign investors sold 391.17 million BBRI shares for a net volume of -155.18 million, followed by 100.50 million BBCA shares for a net volume of -52.06 million. In the multimedia sector, 76.23 million shares of PT Surya Citra Media Tbk (SCMA) were sold, leaving a net volume of -65.61 million shares. Shares of the property company PT Pakuwon Jati Tbk (PWON) were also sold for about 52.80 million shares, resulting in a net volume of -39.15 million shares. Finally, shares of the telecommunications company PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) were sold for approximately 136.10 million shares, with a net volume of -29.76 million. (KD)
