JAKARTA. PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (AMRT), the managing company of Alfamart and Alfamidi convenience stores, will establish a new business line in the digital platform sector called Alfagift.

The management AMRT said that Alfagift was initially developed as a digital membership for Alfamart customers. However, along with the shift in the retail sales trend to online shopping, customers are now used to shop remotely.

“Therefore, the company is forced to adapt by developing its business activities through digital platform that is Alfagift,” said the management of AMRT in the official statement.

In the future, Alfagift is expected to meet the needs of every age group and reach target market more effectively. “The increase of the number of Alfagift members is expected to generate contribution towards sales growth of the company,” added the management.

With this additional business line, the company’s revenue is projected to increase by approximately 4.56%, while gross profit is projected to grow around 2.95%.

AMRT will ask for approval from its shareholders during the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders in order to proceed with this plan of new business line expansion. The meeting is scheduled to take place next Thursday (16/5) at AMRT headquarter.

For the record, AMRT reports that as of now, there are 19,087 Alfamart stores across Indonesia. (KR/ZH)
