JAKARTA - On Monday, May 20, foreign investors purchased up to 1.07 billion shares in the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) for a net volume of 109.07 million shares. This transaction boosted foreign buying volume to 3.51 billion shares. Meanwhile, foreign sales totaled around 3.08 billion shares, resulting in a net foreign volume surplus of 434.01 million shares.

Aside from GOTO, foreign investors also purchased 100.85 million shares of PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA) in the renewable energy sector, for a net volume of 100.69 million. Shares of PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS), a mineral mining company, were also purchased, totaling 98.33 million shares with a net volume of 61.83 million shares, followed by the purchase of 80.74 million shares of its parent company, PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), in the coal mining sector with a net volume of 52.69 million pieces. In addition, 80.74 million shares of PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk (MBMA), an electric car battery manufacturer, were purchased, for a net volume of 52.69 million shares.

Meanwhile, foreign investors also sold some of their shareholdings, starting with the sale of 204.48 million shares of PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA), for a net volume of -71.64 million shares. In the banking industry, shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) and PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) were both sold. Foreign investors sold 221.90 million BBRI shares (net volume: -61.92 million) and 131.58 million BMRI shares (net volume: -52.21 million). Furthermore, approximately 23.81 million shares of coal distributor PT Mandiri Herindo Adiperkasa Tbk (MAHA) were sold, with the net volume being -23.58 million shares. Finally, PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN) reported a net volume of -17.83 million shares after its shares were sold for 17.83 million shares. (KD)
