JAKARTA – PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) is readying final dividend of IDR 77 per share, or IDR 2.9 trillion in total, which will be taken out of its net profit in 2023, plus its retained earnings.

It is worth mentioning that UNVR had distributed interim dividend on December 19, 2023, of IDR 63 per share or IDR 2.4 trillion in total. Therefore, UNVR's total dividend for the fiscal year 2023 reaches IDR 140 per share, or IDR 5.3 trillion, cumulatively.

UNVR's net profit in 2023 actually only clocked up to IDR 4.8 trillion. In other words, the company has to reach deep into its retained earnings for this dividend distribution plan, and thereby scoring dividend payout ratio of 111%.

According to the official statement of UNVR today (20/6), Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) agreed upon this final dividend allocation, which will be disbursed no later than July 18, 2024.

Referring to UNVR's stock price at IDR 3,040 per share at today's (20/6) closing bell, the dividend yield for FY 2023's dividend in total reaches 4.6%. (ZH)
