Market cap went up 16.32% since pandemic
JAKARTA - Market capitalisation in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) reported average growth of 16.32% from June 2020 to June 2024. In June 2020, total market cap in the stock market was IDR 5.67 quadrillion, slipping far from pre-pandemic level in June 2019 of IDR 7.23 quadrillion.
From the data compiled by IDNFinancials today (3/7), market cap was seen at IDR 12.09 quadrillion as of June 2024, up 27.93% from market cap of June 2023 of IDR 9.45 quadrillion.
Said amount was 4.88% higher compared to market cap in June 2022 of IDR 9.01 quadrillion, also soaring 26.90% from market cap of June 2021 of IDR 7.10 quadrillion. June 2021’s market cap was also 25.22% higher from IDR 5.67 quadrillion seen in June 2020.
From June 2020 to June 2023, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) still reigned at the top two spots at Top 50 Market Cap. However, the list formation was drastically changed after PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) entered the scene, arriving at the peak, thus changing the top 2 issuers to BREN and BBCA. (LK/ZH)
