JAKARTA – Two issuers owned by the Punjabis reassert their position as the leading companies in entertainment and movie industry by allocating dividends for the fiscal year (FY) 2023. On the other hand, issuers managed by Hary Tanoesoedibjo have abstained from dividend season for the past two years.

Based on IDNFinancials data today (12/7), PT MD Pictures Tbk (FILM) distributes total dividend of IDR 237.78 billion or IDR 25 per share. In 2022, the company was reported refraining from distributing dividends despite its profit record.

This company, owned by Manoj Dhamoo Punjabi, booked net profit of IDR 96.63 billion, down 40% year-on-year (yoy) from IDR 159.98 billion. The profit balance was seen at IDR 42.45 billion, and its total equity reached IDR 1.62 trillion.

Then, PT Tripar Multivision Plus Tbk (RAAM) owned by Ram Jethmal Punjabi, also reported dividend allocation of IDR 24.77 billion or IDR 4 per share. The net profit increased 18% yoy to IDR 102.9 billion from IDR 87.29 billion in 2022.

Its profit balance was seen at IDR 599.20 billion, and total equity reached IDR 1.22 trillion. In 2022, RAAM also held back from dividend distribution.

In the meantime, , PT MNC Digital Entertainment Tbk (MSIN) decided not to distribute dividend to its parent entity for FY 2022 and 2023. Its net profit indeed went down 22.30% yoy to IDR 263.99 billion in 2023 from IDR 339.77 billion in 2022. (LK/ZH)
