JAKARTA. PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya Tbk (CNMA) or Cinema XXI reported net profit of IDR 424.5 billion in the first half of 2024, up 94% year-on-year (yoy) from IDR 216.9 billion.

This net profit surge is supported with CNMA’s revenue in H1 2024 that reached IDR 2.9 trillion. Its revenue increased 21.8% yoy from IDR 2.4 trillion in H1 2023.

Suryo Suherman, President Director of CNMA, mentioned that increases in net profit and revenue in H1 2024 was in accordance with its business fundamentals that continue to improve.

“This performance improvement also reflects how theatre industry has grown in the right path along with post-pandemic recovery,” said Suherman.

Theatre tickets still brought in most of CNMA’s revenue in H1 2024, with contribution of 63% of total revenue. Meanwhile, foods and beverages sales reached 33% of total revenue.

Throughout the first half of 2024, CNMA’s audience increased 26.2% yoy to 46.5 million people. “It shows that the culture of movie-watching at theatres is still adopted by Indonesian people post-pandemic,” added Suherman.

In addition, Suherman further said that the public’s interest towards local movies has been indicating positive trend, as indicated through the percentage of local-made movies’ viewers that reaced 64.6% in H1 2024.

“Therefore, Cinema XXI keeps its commitment in providing the best movie-watching experience, as well as supporting the development and progress of local movie industry,” said Suherman. (KR/ZH)
