Foreign investors sell half a billion shares of Gojek Tokopedia
JAKARTA - PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) shares were the most sold on Friday, July 26, with foreign investors selling 504.12 million shares and creating a net volume of -346.47 million shares. Moreover, the foreign selling volume was 1.88 billion shares, while the foreign buying volume was 1.56 billion shares. As a result, net foreign volume ended at -323.28 million shares.
Foreign investors then continued their share sales activities, selling 70.86 million shares of PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA), an e-commerce company, for a net volume of -53.74 million shares. The shares of the telecommunications business PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN) and the health services company PT Metro Healthcare Indonesia Tbk (CARE) were then sold with no shares purchased. FREN shares were sold for 81.16 million shares, with a net volume of -81.16 million shares, followed by 15.63 million CARE shares, with a net volume of -15.63 million shares. Apart from that, PT Surya Citra Media Tbk (SCMA) shares in the multimedia services sector were sold for 18.21 million shares, with a net volume of -17.06 million shares.
Meanwhile, 104.40 million shares of domestic and foreign shipping services company PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL) were purchased with a net volume of 76.16 million shares. Foreign investors also purchased around 71.74 million shares of automotive business PT Astra International Tbk (ASII), with a net volume of 37.82 million shares. In addition, 84.57 million shares of the state-owned telecommunications company PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) were purchased, for a net volume of 24.22 million shares. In the banking sector, foreign investors purchased 66.72 million shares of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) for a net volume of 19.25 million shares and 22.52 million shares of PT Bank KB Bukopin Tbk (BBKP) for a net volume of 16.04 million shares.
