Foreign buying and selling volume nearly equal, net foreign volume hit -34.28 million shares
JAKARTA - Foreign investors' share purchasing and selling operations on Thursday, August 15, were almost evenly balanced, with a total of 2.16 billion shares bought and 2.19 billion shares sold. As a result, net foreign volume ended at -34.28 million shares. The most shares purchased belonged to the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), which purchased 558.51 million shares with a net volume of 239.97 million shares.
The energy resources infrastructure company PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) then followed suit, with 107.80 million shares bought for a net volume of 70.19 million shares. Shares of the precious metals company PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) were also purchased at 81.35 million shares for a net volume of 36.27 million shares, followed by the purchase of 104.77 million shares of the coal mining company PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) for a net volume of 34.25 million shares. In addition, 38.64 million shares of forklift rental business PT Sarana Mitra Luas Tbk (SMIL) were purchased, for a net volume of 27.97 million shares.
Foreign investors, on the other hand, have also sold their shares in multiple issuers. The banking company PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Banten (Perseroda) Tbk (BEKS) ranked first on the top-selling list, with 486.09 million shares sold and a net volume of -486.09 million shares. Shares of the construction services business PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (WIKA) were also sold for approximately 90.92 million shares, with a net volume of -31.89 million shares. The next shares to be sold were those of two state-owned firms that provide construction, infrastructure, and real estate services: PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk (ADHI) and PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk (PTPP). Foreign investors sold 38.02 million ADHI shares for a net volume of -29.86 million shares and 36.90 million PTPP shares for a net volume of -28.94 million shares. The top share sales transaction was then completed with the selling of 24.12 million shares of electric car battery manufacturer PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk (MBMA), resulting in a net volume of -23.17 million shares.
