JAKARTA – President Joko Widodo officially appointed three new ministers in his Indonesia Maju Cabinet today (19/8). This is another round of cabinet reshuffle initiated by President Jokowi, whose term will end soon on October 20, 2024.

In the inauguration and oath taking ceremony streamed at Youtube channel of Presidential Secretariate, Joko Widodo was seen inaugurating Supratman Andi Agtas as the Minister of Law and Human Rights, replacing Yasonna Laoly.

Furthermore, Bahlil Lahadalia will step in as the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, replacing Arifin Tasrif, while Roslan Roeslani is set to be the Minister of Investment, replacing Lahadalia.

In addition, Jokowi also inaugurated Angga Raka Prabowo as the Vice Minister of Communication and Information, as well as Dadan Hindayana as the Head of National Nutrition Council, Hasan Nasbi as the Head of Presidential Communication Office, and Taruna Ikrar as the Head of BPOM.

For the record, Minister of Law and Human Rights as well as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources are two positions usually held by PDIP.

Now, with this reshuffle, Minister of Law and Human Rights position is given to Gerindra, while Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources position is held by Golkar. Meanwhile, PDIP still holds one position in the ministry level with Bintang Puspayoga as the Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection. (LK/ZH)
