JAKARTA - On Wednesday, August 14, up to 85 million shares of investment firm PT Polaris Investama Tbk (PLAS) were selected by UBS AG London-2140724000 as their newest investment decision. This foreign investor completed the transaction through BUT Deutsche Bank AG and immediately assumed control of 7.18%.

In the entertainment sector, Ram Jethmal Punjabi has invested 10 million shares in PT Tripar Multivision Plus Tbk (RAAM), a production company. As many as 3.80 million shares were also added by foreign investor Morgan Stanley And Co. International Plc to another production company, PT MD Pictures Tbk (FILM). Additionally, controlling shareholder PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk acquired approximately 5.11 million shares of private hospital operator PT Sarana Meditama Metropolitan Tbk (SAME), while coal mining holding company PT Delta Dunia Makmur Tbk (DOID) bought back 2 million of its own shares.

Conversely, PT Fersindo Nusa Jaya went through the biggest share reduction this time around following the sale of 88.70 million shares of PT Estee Gold Feet Tbk (EURO), an aerosol company for cosmetics and home appliances, through PT Korea Investment And Sekuritas Indonesia along with two other securities. Additionally, PT Shima Global Kapital sold 25.85 million shares of PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (ENRG), a company that engages in oil and gas exploration and trading.

Other share reductions were made by other investors, albeit with smaller volumes. PT Goldfive Investment Capital sold approximately 4.56 million shares of PT Bintang Samudera Mandiri Lines Tbk (BSML), a shipping and logistics company. PT Sinar Mas Cakrawala then sold 3.63 million shares of PT Sinar Mas Multiartha Tbk (SMMA), a financial services company. Lastly, 1 million shares of the building construction company PT Total Bangun Persada Tbk (TOTL) were sold by individual investor Djadjang Tanuwidjaja. (KD)
