JAKARTA - Foreign investors appeared to expand their share purchases on Tuesday, August 20, with the foreign purchase volume hitting 3.63 billion shares. This increase was due, in part, to foreign investors buying up to 1.51 billion shares of the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) for a net volume of 357.11 million shares. The foreign sales volume was 2.76 billion shares, and the net foreign volume was closed at 869.49 million shares.

Aside from that, about 210.52 million shares of the banking corporation PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) were purchased, resulting in a net volume of 138.92 million shares. Shares of PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk (MNCN), which specializes in advertising-based media, were then purchased for 108.07 million shares, with a net volume of 86.70 million shares. In addition, 84.90 million shares of the energy resources infrastructure company PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) were purchased with a net volume of 62.59 million shares, followed by 58.37 million shares of the renewable energy company PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA) with a net volume of 58.22 million shares.

In the share sale transactions list, foreign investors began by selling 173.93 million shares of the banking firm PT Bank KB Bukopin Tbk (BBKP) for a net volume of -111.40 million shares. Shares of multimedia business PT Surya Citra Media Tbk (SCMA) were also sold for 93.06 million shares, for a net volume of -71.77 million shares. In the telecoms industry, almost 62 million shares of PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN) were sold, with a net volume of -61.87 million shares. Furthermore, shares of forklift rental business PT Sarana Mitra Luas Tbk (SMIL) were sold for 43.34 million shares, resulting in a net volume of -37.41 million shares. Finally, shares of PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk (MBMA), an electric vehicle batteries manufacturer, were sold for 18.09 million shares, with a net volume of -16.81 million shares. (KD)
