Enhancing efficiency, HUMI to purchase 2 tugboats for IDR 22.5 billion
JAKARTA. PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk (HUMI), a subsidiary of PT Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi Tbk (HITS) engaged in marine transportation sector, has reportedly acquired 2 units of tugboats.
The acquisition of these vessels is initiated by HUMI through its subsidiary, PT Humpuss Transportasi Curah (HTC). For the record, HTC is a business entity established since 2016, operating in ship crew training service.
Tirta Hidayat, President Director of HUMI, confirmed that both vessels are bought for a total IDR 22.5 billion. They consist of Anugerah Bersama 5 worth IDR 11 billion and Anugerah Bersama 6 worth IDR 11.5 billion.
“The fund source for tugboat purchase was split into 70% of bank loans, and the remainder came from internal cash,” said Hidayat in the official statement.
Both vessels are bought from PT Pelayaran Anugerah Wijaya Bersaudara (PAWB) and Fusanto Wijaya, both of which are affiliated with HUMI.
Furthermore, Hidayat said that the purchase of those vessels will enhance operational efficiency of HUMI in the future.
“Although this transaction will not directly increase the revenue, we believe that making cuts in leasing expenses and enhancing operational efficiency will positively affect the company’s net profit,” added Hidayat. (KR/ZH)
