Taking on investment management business, BBRI to work with European investment manager
JAKARTA. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) has signed a Conditional Share Subscription Agreement (CSSA) with Amundi, an asset management company based in France.
In said collaboration, Amundi will book new shares of PT BRI Manajemen Investasi (BRI MI), a subsidiary of BBRI engaged in the investment management business.
“Then, Amundi will become a minority shareholder, whereas the company remains as majority shareholder of BRI MI,” added the management of BBRI in the official statement today (3/9).
However, BBRI and Amundi will still need to fulfil several preconditions stated in CSSA, one of them being approval from Financial Services Authority.
“The company will disclose more information after the transaction plan [new share book] was concluded,” said the management of BBRI.
According to IDNFinancials data, Amundi is an investment management company with the biggest total assets under management (AUM) in Europe. As of March 31, 2024, total AUM of Amundi reportedly reached USD 2,116 trillion, amassed from 6 investment hubs across various countries. (KR/ZH)
