JAKARTA. PT Angkasa Pura I and PT Angkasa Pura II have been officially merged together, becoming PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (API).

Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Transportation, mentioned that this merger is expected to give positive signal to aviation industry.

“Reforming two major corporates in their comfort zones is not an easy task. With this merger, may God be willing to bring forward advantage and competitiveness of other airports, as well,” Sumadi said during the API inauguration yesterday.

Meanwhile, Dony Oskaria, President Director of PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), or InJournet, revealed that the process of this merger has been taking place for around 9 months.

“The process has been concluded, including the completion of 6-9 regulations in order to comply with applicable regulations,” Oskaria mentioned.

In addition, Oskaria also said that InJourney has been leading 160 subsystems that have joined InJourney Airports. The subsystems then are split into groups of terminals, air side, and enterprise system. These three groups are expected to be the benchmarks of operations of all airports under InJourney. (KR/ZH)
