JAKARTA. PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) has reportedly collaborated with PT ITDC Nusantara Utilitas (INU), a subsidiary of InJourney Tourism Development Corporation, to develop a gas network in tourism sector.

Ratih Esti Prihatini, Director of Commercial of PGAS, mentioned that this partnership is the first step to fulfil the target of gas network construction target. “Hopefully, this collaboration could proceed into a more concrete level,” she said in the official statement.

This collaboration includes exploring the potential in planning, construction, management, and supply of natural gas in tourism area managed by INU, especially hotels, restaurants, etc.

Some of tourism areas under INU’s management are namely Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and Golo Mori SEZ in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Until H1 2024, PGAS had reached 3,154 industrial and commercial users, 2,017 small-scale users, and 816,063 household users. The opportunities in tourism SEZs are expected to increase the number of natural gas users and help in penetrating new regions. (KR/ZH)
