Green Power Group subsidiary to start battery production
JAKARTA. PT Green Power Battery (GPB), a subsidiary of PT Green Power Group Tbk (LABA), will soon begin the battery production phase for electric vehicle needs.
William Ong, President Director of LABA, said that GPB has currently obtained the first qualification to produce electric motor vehicle battery packs. The licensing and overall production qualification are targeted to be completed in October 2024.
"Along with obtaining the battery production qualification, GPB has received the first batch of equipment and supplies to support battery pack production," said William, in his official statement.
It should be noted that GPB has also signed a cooperation agreement with PT Gotion Indonesia Materials on September 18, 2024. In the agreement, GPB will supply 6,080 sets of electric motorcycle batteries, with an estimated contract value of IDR 21 billion. In addition, GPB will also supply 31,080 other sets of electric motorcycle batteries, with an estimated contract value of IDR 118 billion.
"The battery packs will be handed over to PT Gotion Indonesia Materials after the agreement becomes effective," said William. (KR/LM)
