JAKARTA – PT Bukit Makmur Mandiri Utama (BUMA), a subsidiary of PT Delta Dunia Makmur Tbk (DOID), obtains an extension for its mining service contract in Meandu Mine, Queensland, Australia, until 2026.

The value of this contract extension reaches AUD 200 million per year, equal to IDR 2.07 trillion, assuming that the rate used is IDR 10,394 per AUD.

In the press release quoted Wednesday (25/9), Dian Andyasuri, Director of Delta Dunia Group, mentioned that the contract extension reemphasises the substantial contribution of BUMA Australia in the client’s success, as well as a form of commitment in building a long-term partnership.

“We are elated to be able to continue successful partnership between BUMA Ustralia and Stanwell Corporation,” Andyasuri said.

BUMA Australia has been leading the operation in Meandu Mine since 2021. It supervises mining operation, including taking the responsibility as site senior executive (SSE), and being responsible for mining planning, drilling, blasting, overburden removal, coal mining, refinery factory management, as well as coal refinery.

BUMA Australia will maintain current operational scale, setting annual coal production at approximately 35 million bank cubic metres (bcm) and coal volume of roughly 7 million ton.

Then, Colin Gilligan, CEO of BUMA Australia, said that the mining service contract extension reflects BUMA’s commitment to grow together alongside local economy and community empowerment.

In 2023, BUMA Australia rehabilitated 39.4 hectares (Ha) of natural vegetation in Meandu Mine. This initiative applies modern technique in reviving local ecosystem, demonstrating the commitment towards environmental responsibility. (LK/ZH)
