JAKARTA. PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) booked car sales of 357,802 units until the end of September (9M) 2024, dropped 15.09% year-on-year (yoy) from the same period last year.

This decline was also seen in car sales of ASII in September 2024, which only reached 40,096 units and contrasting with August 2024’s number that reached 42,195 units.

Boy Kelana Soebroto, Head of Corporate Communications of ASII, mentioned that the company will be committed to provide high-quality product and the best services. “We wish to continue making positive contribution to national automotive industry,” he said in the official statement.

Out of all the brands under ASII, Toyota and Lexus cars brought in most of the sales, generating 210,349 units of sales until September 2024. Daihatsu’s car sales contributed 125,849 units, followed by Isuzu of 18,406 units, UD Trucks of 1,501 units, and Peugeot of 27 units.

For the record, ASII still dominated the market share of national car sales until September 2024, remaining steady at 55%. (KR/ZH)
