Shareholders gave a nod to ADRO’s plan of AAI divestment for business diversification
JAKARTA. Shareholders of PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk (ADRO) have approved the plan of divesting the entire shares in PT Adaro Andalan Indonesia (AAI) to extend the business’s reach to outside thermal coal.
Garibaldi Thohir, CEO of ADRO, mentioned that as of now, the company has been continuously working on strategic transaction and diversification in non-coal segments.
“It is to create a more balanced business portfolio and achieve the target to generate approximately 50% of revenue from non-thermal coal segment, by at least 2030,” said Thohir.
Thohir further mentioned that ADRO is always committed to support Indonesian government to lower greenhouse gas emission, as well as net zero emission target by 2060, through various initiatives.
ADRO itself is targeting to record over 50% of its revenue coming from non-thermal coal business by 2030. This target will be attainable by increasing business potentials in segments that favour green ecosystem in Indonesia. (KR/ZH)
