BANDUNG – Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, mentioned that the government will launch National Productivity Program as part of efforts to boost labour competitiveness in Indonesia.

Yassierli unveiled his plan during his keynote speech at Top CEO Indonesia Awards 2024 held by Tempo and IDNFinancials at Pullman Bandung Grand Central, Friday (15/11).

Furthermore, Yassierli mentioned that there are several short-term strategies that the government will implement, including competency improvement, workforce placement expansion, labour welfare and protection enhancement, competitiveness increase, as well as labour management reformation.

“In regard to this competitiveness, we will introduce National Productivity Program next year,” Yassierli mentioned.

He further mentioned that as of now, workforce development paradigm has shifted from people-centric to purpose-centric in terms of corporate management, thus focusing on establishing a business ecosystem to foster shared growth.

This ecosystem, he said, will extend beyond internal corporate structure. It will involve jobseekers, industry partners, MSMEs, universities, etc. The extensive explanation from the minister is accessible here.
