Securing ASRRAT Gold Rank 4 years in a row, BNI shows solid sustainable finance commitment
JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI has again won the Gold Rank award in the 2024 Asia Sustainability Report Rating (ASRRAT) event organized by the National Center for Corporate Reporting (NCCR).
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that this is the 4th year the company has won the Gold Rank in this prestigious Asian award event. This achievement is proof of BNI's seriousness as a state-owned company in implementing sustainable finance in Indonesia.
"This achievement is a spirit and encouragement for BNI to continue implementing sustainable finance in Indonesia in the future," he said in his official statement.
The 2024 ASRRAT award was obtained thanks to the company's commitment to running a business based on sustainable principles. The implementation of ESG is also reported through the Sustainability Report in a transparent and accountable manner.
ASRRAT is an awarding activity for institutions that have successfully communicated sustainability performance to stakeholders through good sustainability reports.
As one of the pioneers of sustainable finance in Indonesia, BNI continues to strengthen its commitment to implementing sustainable principles by establishing an ESG framework and roadmap that serves as a reference for banks in implementing and improving environmental, social and operational governance initiatives.
Furthermore, BNI has also prepared the implementation of climate risk and strengthened supporting infrastructure, and has set an ambitious target to achieve Net Zero Emission (NZE) Operations by 2028 and NZE Financing by 2060.
BNI's direct contribution is by providing financing to environmentally friendly sectors, complying with environmental regulations and improving environmental and social performance.
BNI's commitment to creating an ESG-based business can be seen in the achievement of a sustainability portfolio that reached IDR 187.6 trillion, 25.9% of BNI's total credit until September 2024.
